Swordsman is the durable melee starting point. It suits players who want to hold monsters in place, survive mistakes in early fields and learn Ragnarok's pull-and-fight rhythm without managing distance.

The job branches into Knight, the offensive two-handed and mounted route, or Crusader, a sturdier holy-themed defender. Pick Swordsman when you expect to stand at the front of parties.

Acolyte trades damage for heals, buffs and utility. Solo levelling is slower than on a damage job, but every party, MVP attempt and guild group benefits from a reliable support player.

Its second jobs split sharply. Priest stays the dedicated healer and buffer, while Monk turns the same holy foundation into a close-range damage dealer.

Archer attacks from a distance with bows, which makes it one of the more comfortable first jobs for solo field levelling. Positioning and arrow supply matter more than raw toughness.

Hunter continues the ranged route with traps and a falcon. Bard and Dancer are gender-specific performance jobs that add party songs and dances to the Archer base.

Merchant fights with axes and maces but its real identity is trade. Vending, carrying capacity and better buy and sell prices make it valuable for players who enjoy the market side of Ragnarok.

Blacksmith pushes weapon forging and refinement support, while Alchemist moves toward potion making and homunculus companions. Both reward players who care about materials and prices.

Thief relies on attack speed and dodging instead of heavy armour. It levels quickly in the right field but punishes careless pulls when evasion fails against large groups.

Assassin sharpens the job into a fast single-target killer, while Rogue adds copying, stealing and more flexible tricks. Both suit players who enjoy an agile, hands-on playstyle.

Magician casts elemental magic, so matching the spell element to the monster matters from the first fields. Damage is high, but low health means careful positioning and cast timing.

Wizard focuses on large area spells for groups, while Sage mixes magic with utility such as elemental support. Gravity's official class video uses the name Magician for this first job, which many players still call Mage.
