Levelling guide
Ragnarok Zero: Global levelling guide — maps, parties and auto-hunting rules
A level 1 to 50 route, when to party instead of farming alone, and how to set auto-hunting so it earns experience without wasting potions or gear.

Level on maps where you survive without thinking, party whenever possible, and use auto-hunting only after testing a map yourself. Speed comes from constant safe kills, not from the monster with the biggest experience number.
A practical route to the second job
This route follows specialist launch guides and suits most jobs:
| Level range | Where to level | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1–20 | Main quests and mission board | Guided experience plus rewards and explanations |
| 20–30 | Prontera Culvert floor 2 or Sograt Desert | Dense, predictable monsters near towns |
| 30–40 | Labyrinth Forest or poison-spore fields | Better experience once your damage holds up |
| 40–50 | Orc Dungeon, Geffen Field 10 or Sograt Desert 17 | Strong groups and steady loot before a second job |
Adjust for your job. Ranged jobs and magicians prefer open fields where they can keep distance. Frontline jobs cope better in dense dungeons, especially with a healer.
Party before you grind alone
Party experience sharing is the strongest accelerator available. A tank, a healer and one damage job kill faster, spend fewer potions and survive pulls that would end a solo run. Guilds add a revamped guild experience system and monthly MVP Raids, so joining an active guild pays off long after levelling.
What auto-hunting does
Auto-hunting is an official, built-in feature, not a third-party bot. It keeps your character fighting on the current map with rules you choose. Launch coverage describes settings for party invitations, equipment restrictions and companion care such as homunculus feeding.
Set it up before you walk away
- Test the map manually first. If you die by hand, auto-hunting will die faster.
- Set potion thresholds. Too high wastes Zeny; too low loses fights.
- Filter loot. Pick up what sells or what you need, and ignore clutter that fills weight.
- Decide on party invites. Accept them only if you want to join groups while away.
- Protect valuable gear. Use the equipment restrictions so upgrades are not swapped or put at risk.
- Check back regularly. Maps get crowded and monster density changes during events.
Know the trade-offs
Automation saves time but floods the market with common drops, so prices for easy materials tend to fall. Plan to earn Zeny from items that automation does not farm well, such as MVP drops, crafted goods or cards.
It also changes the social game. Parties still level faster and are required for the hardest content, so keep grouping for dungeons, MVPs and guild activities even if auto-hunting handles routine fields.
Level cap and what comes next
The September 2026 update opened second jobs, and Gravity's roadmap schedules maximum level expansions from October 2026 onward. Don't over-invest in early-level gear; plan equipment you can keep through the next cap raise.
