Ragnarok Zero: Global

Worth it

Worth it for Ragnarok Online veterans and party-focused MMO players in Europe, Oceania or Southeast Asia who accept a subscription. Players who dislike paying monthly and still seeing refine and experience items in a shop should try the free trial before committing.

Best fitVeterans who want classic Ragnarok on PCPlayers who want modern 3D exploration and mobile continuity

Both games are published under Gravity's Ragnarok brand, but they answer different questions. Ragnarok Zero: Global recreates the original PC MMORPG with modern convenience. Ragnarok: The New World reinterprets Midgard as a 3D open-world game for PC and mobile.

Presentation and feel

Ragnarok Zero: Global keeps the 2D pixel-art characters, classic maps and familiar town layouts of Ragnarok Online, with an updated interface and new areas such as Nordfeld. The New World moves the same setting into a seamless 3D world with a modern camera and traversal. If the sprite look is part of why you love Ragnarok, Zero is the closer match.

How you pay

This is the biggest practical difference. Ragnarok Zero: Global requires a subscription Game Pass and also sells optional Kafra Point items, including refining and experience boosts. The New World is free to play and earns through in-app and chance-based purchases. Zero asks for money up front; The New World asks for none but relies more on its shop.

Classes and commitment

Ragnarok Zero: Global follows the classic path: a Novice becomes one of six first jobs and then one of 13 second jobs, and that choice defines the character. The New World lets one character learn several jobs and reset stats and skills freely. Choose Zero if meaningful, lasting build decisions appeal to you; choose The New World if you want to experiment without starting over.

Automation and daily time

Both reduce grinding differently. Zero offers official, configurable auto-hunting while you watch or step away. The New World adds offline hunting that keeps progressing while you are logged out. The New World suits shorter sessions; Zero still rewards active parties for harder content.

Platforms and regions

Ragnarok Zero: Global is Windows only, but its single service already covers Europe, Oceania and Southeast Asia. The New World supports PC and mobile with synchronised progress, yet its availability depends on regional services, and Gravity described the wider global release as still in preparation in August 2026. Players in Europe who want a live service today will find Zero easier to access.

Which one fits

Pick Ragnarok Zero: Global if you want classic Ragnarok on PC, accept a subscription and value party play and permanent class choices. Pick Ragnarok: The New World if you prefer free entry, 3D exploration and playing the same character on your phone, and its service is available where you live.

Rekommendationen

Vilken

Choose Ragnarok Zero: Global for the classic 2D Ragnarok Online structure on PC with a subscription and European availability. Choose Ragnarok: The New World for a free-to-play 3D open world that one character can play across PC and mobile, where its regional service is available.
