Defense creates the damage window
Treat deflection as a timed answer, not a permanent stance. Watch the attacker's body and weapon rather than the amount of screen effect. Successful defense protects health and pressures the opponent's posture; attacking continuously often trades away the opening you were trying to create.
Evade when the sequence is difficult to read or when movement creates a better position. The strongest habit is deciding before the attack lands whether the goal is deflect, distance or interruption. Repeatedly changing that decision mid-animation creates panic inputs.
Give both weapons a purpose
A good pair is easier to explain than to rank. One martial art may establish pressure or a status, while the other converts the opening, controls space or restores safety. If both weapons consume resources in the same moment and solve the same range, switching adds animation without adding a decision.
Use Path Guide to understand intended links, then test the pair against the same target. Compare clear time, healing used and how often a skill waits unavailable. A build that survives mistakes is usually better for exploration than a theoretical burst setup requiring perfect execution.
Align Inner Ways and gear with the actual loop
Read the trigger on every Inner Way. Equip bonuses that activate through actions already present in the rotation. A high-rarity effect tied to a status you never apply is weaker than a simpler effect that works every encounter. Improve the small core first rather than raising unrelated options evenly.
Gear should reinforce the same purpose. Do not discard a stable set merely because a new piece displays a higher headline value. Compare the attributes used by the current path and keep enough resources to finish a meaningful threshold.
Diagnose a failed boss attempt
If healing runs out, identify which attack causes the repeated loss and practice surviving it. If the timer or damage check fails while survival is comfortable, tighten the punish window and confirm that supporting effects trigger. If both fail, improve the coherent core rather than changing every component at once.
Record one change between attempts. Swapping weapons, Inner Ways and gear simultaneously hides the reason for improvement and makes the build impossible to maintain.
