Control is the decisive difference
Fleet Command asks you to prepare a hull and crew, scan and commit; the fight resolves through statistics and abilities. EVE Echoes asks for more active decisions about modules, range and movement. Pick EVE when piloting through the engagement matters. Pick Fleet Command when planning and interpreting the report is the attraction.
Progress and risk
Fleet Command organizes growth around Operations, research, officers, ships and timed events. Defeat creates repairs, while station resources require protection. EVE Echoes puts more weight on fitting costs, trade and the consequences of operating in dangerous space. Both reward an organized group, but their pressure feels different.
Choose Fleet Command for familiar franchise ships, alliance armadas and a long upgrade plan. Choose EVE Echoes for fitting freedom and a less forgiving sandbox. Neither behaves like a self-contained single-player space adventure.
Economy and identity
Fleet Command attaches much of account identity to a station, Operations level, collected officers and licensed ships. EVE Echoes attaches more of it to trained capabilities, fitted hulls and participation in a player economy. Losing a fight therefore produces a different emotional cost even when both games require replacement or repair resources.
Before installing, decide whether recognizable Star Trek stories are a system you want to collect through, or whether an emergent space economy is the story. That answer is more durable than comparing current event rewards, which change too quickly to guide a long-term choice.
