Follow the story until every core system opens
Use the opening missions as a systems tutorial. Unlock the city, daily activities and team switching before spending time on optional farming. Activate nearby travel points whenever the route passes them.
Build one dependable team first
Raise one damage dealer and the companions that enable that character. Keep their levels and core equipment close together. Spreading upgrade materials across the whole roster slows the first team without improving the content it can clear.
Save flexible resources
Use fixed rewards and common materials early. Keep selectors and scarce currency until you know which role blocks progress. This leaves room to react when the account gains a stronger character.
Learn defense as part of the rotation
Dodging and parrying are not only emergency actions. Correct timing can accelerate Esper Meter and create a safer Entry Attack. Spend an early encounter watching the enemy rather than forcing damage; learning which attacks can be answered cleanly improves survival and rotation speed at the same time.
Open Hethereau in useful routes
Activate phone booths and major district travel points when normal quests pass them. Fast travel is best for a commission you already understand; driving is better when the street itself may contain the discovery. This avoids repeating long trips without teleporting past every piece of city context.
Give each session two goals
Choose one story objective and one account objective, such as improving the active damage dealer. Stop optional farming when that objective is complete. NTE contains combat, property, vehicles and city activities; treating every system as an immediate obligation wastes resources and makes the opening feel busier than it needs to be.
Before ending the session, leave the squad ready for the next objective: spend only the material that completes a useful threshold, equip the intended team and note the resource currently blocking progress. On return, that note is more useful than following whichever event badge is flashing.
Treat temporary launch rewards as a starting inventory rather than proof of recurring income. Learn what each currency buys and keep premium selectors untouched until the roster has a defined missing role.
