Star Trek Fleet Command alliance guide — choose and contribute well

Find a group that matches your schedule, use Help and armadas efficiently, and keep donations from blocking personal progression.

Choose schedule fit over rank

Read the alliance description, note its time zone and ask when armadas or territory activities happen. A smaller group online during your normal session provides more help than a leaderboard alliance whose events begin while you are asleep. Confirm daily participation and power expectations before joining.

Use Help before speedups

Start an eligible build or research task, request Alliance Help and let assists arrive before spending speedups. Return help whenever the indicator appears. Donate enough to support shared development, but keep resources reserved for the next critical Operations prerequisite.

Prepare for armadas

Confirm target type, requested power, launch time and travel time. Recall and repair the correct ship, then install an encounter-specific crew before the timer becomes urgent. If your ship is below the requested range, ask rather than occupying a limited slot with an ineffective fleet.

After combat, inspect the report. Identify whether class choice, survival or damage constrained the group, then adjust before the next launch. Repeating a failed setup at higher cost is not contribution.

Communicate actionable information

Share coordinates, target levels and deadlines. Distinguish permanent mechanics from temporary event rules, because live updates age advice quickly. Leave a group when its schedule, expectations or conduct no longer fit; persistent group play is central enough that remaining in an inactive alliance slows nearly every part of the account.

Protect the relationship between alliance and account goals

Choose alliance events that overlap with work the account already needs. A hostile event can advance a planned resource farm; an armada can support a ship target. Chasing an unrelated milestone because the group is active may empty speedups or materials required for core progression.

Ask before starting an expensive group action. Confirm who can join, how long travel takes and whether the target matches the available fleets. Good coordination reduces waste because everyone knows the purpose before the timer begins.

Review the fit after several days. Useful signs are regular Help, clear announcements, reasonable event expectations and answers that explain why. Silence, pressure to buy, or demands that consistently fall outside your play window are reasons to find a better group.
